This is a software compare tool that also can merge files and do compare folders, functionalities that can help upgrade source files.
Guiffy SureMerge is a visual file compare Diff tool, Merge tool, and Folder compare too. It is an all-in-one tool that makes comparing, merging, and upgrading sources very easy and reliable. The sure merge has a command line interface so that it could be integrated with other application quite easily. It also has an API package, Eclipse and NetBeans plugins and Finder integration. The software is able to recognize 150 source file encoding formats including UTF8, UTF16, and many other multi-byte formats. The component combines three different algorithms and has in-line difference highlighting that can be tuned. The tool also has syntax highlighting capability that can check syntax for a range of languages including C, C++, C#, CSS, Fortran, HTML, Java, JavaScript, JSP, Perl, PHP, Python, Ruby, SAS, SQL, Tcl, and XML.
You would be able to expand a subfolder, double clicking on anyone will generate a separate window where differences are viewed easily. Its “folder compare” will check and compare the subfolder tree inside each folder. The interface provides graphical views that help merging them without problems. You have two views of the two individual files and then on top a combined view of the two. You are, thus, able to view the merging for any problems. Software source merging is a specialized job and the tool reflects the same with an array of controls on the toolbar. This is a tool, obviously, for the specialist. You are also going to need some familiarity time.
